SAPAR Client Focus Groups - Summer 2022 | One goal for Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) is to provide quality assessment services to facilitate client planning and decision-making. To measure this goal and associated outcomes, the department conducted focus groups with clients to understand the effectiveness and quality of the services offered. Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research conducts focus groups approximately every three years to learn about clients’ experiences working with the department. Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research will use the data collected to improve services provided to the Division of Student Affairs (DSA). Student Well-Being Survey | A longitudinal student was conducted to understand how students rate their well-being while attending Texas A&M to help Student Health Services maintain high quality health services and plan for new ones to enhance the health and well-being of all Aggie students. The electronic survey was administered once a month in September, October, November, February, March, and April. The survey link was emailed to a sample of students on or close to the 1st of each month and it was closed about the 15th of the month. Fall 2023 Howdy Week | Howdy Week is a campus-wide collaboration to serve as Aggieland’s official welcome for all new and returning students. Howdy Week occurs the days before the start of the semester and was held on August 17-22, 2023. New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) wanted to understand students’ experiences attending the Fall 2023 Howdy Week. Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research has worked with New Student and Family Programs assessing coordinators involved with Howdy Week since 2017. Green Dot Bystander Intervention Overview & Training Evaluations 2021-2022 | According to its website (greendot.tamu.edu), Green Dot is an international movement built on the premise that individuals can systematically and measurably reduce the levels of power-based personal violence found in their community. Students, staff and faculty who participated in the Texas A&M Green Dot Bystander Intervention training classes and the Green Dot Overview virtual workshops were surveyed to assess the programs and how attending affected participants’ understanding of concepts related to power-based personal violence. Health Promotion Alcohol Education Workshop Outcomes 2022-2023 | Students who receive a sanction to attend the Alcohol Education Workshop (AEW) are required to meet with a Health Promotion (HP) staff member prior to their workshop, attend the workshop, then come back for a follow-up meeting with the HP staff member approximately two weeks after participating in the workshop. Health Promotion wanted to assess whether the students attending AEW met the learning outcomes. Health Promotion Hullabaloo U - My Aggie Wellness Journey Assessment 2023 | Student Life Health Promotion (HP) staff offered 2023 Hullabaloo U instructors a series of 40-minute lessons to facilitate as part of the Hullabaloo U curriculum during their fall 2023 courses. The first lesson, My Aggie Wellness Journey, was intended to be delivered in the early weeks of the semester between August 24, 2023, and September 30, 2023. Students participating in the lesson were offered an open link or a QR code to access a survey at the end of the lesson, which assessed whether the students met the learning outcomes and whether they were receptive to and participated in lesson activities. Health Promotion: Hullabaloo U Healthy Relationships Lesson Fall 2023 | As part of the 2023 Hullabaloo U curriculum, Health Promotion (HP) staff were required to provide a lesson called Healthy Relationships. Instructors and students were surveyed after the Healthy Relationship lesson was facilitated during weeks six through 11 to measure its effectiveness from each of their perspectives. This lesson was provided to multiple Texas A&M campuses as well as the College Station campus. Health Promotions - Sex in the Dark Workshop 2021-2022 | The Sex in the Dark workshop, conducted by Health Promotion (HP), is designed to increase students’ knowledge of their sexual health. Learning outcomes developed for Sex in the Dark workshop include: • Participants will report increased knowledge of healthy sexual behaviors. Surveys were developed to measure participants’ learning, as well as gauge participants’ overall impression of the program and perceptions of the facilitators of the program. Health Promotions Presentation Survey 2021-2022 | Health Promotion (HP) staff offer a variety of presentations for classrooms, student organizations and residence halls on health-related topics to promote healthy lifestyles, health maintenance, disease/injury prevention and interpersonal violence protection for Texas A&M University students and the campus community. After each presentation, participants were surveyed to ascertain their satisfaction with each presentation, whether the topics presented were relevant to them, and to gain insight into future improvements needed. During the 2021-2022 academic year HP presentations were provided in both in-person and virtual formats. Health Promotions STAND UP Overview and Workshop Evaluations 2021-2022 | Health Promotions within Student Life offers workshops providing educational support for the STAND Up campaign on the Texas A&M University campus inviting Aggies to Step In and Stand Up against sexual harassment and sexual violence. In 2021-2022, two separate programs were offered: The STAND Up Overview, an hour-long presentation intended to provide general information about the impacts of trauma related to experiencing power-based personal violence, and the STAND Up workshop, a three and one-half hour, in-person workshop designed to provide a more thorough understanding of impacts of trauma related to experiencing power-based personal violence. Surveys were distributed at the end of the Overviews and STAND Up workshops to measure participants’ learning and satisfaction. Off Campus Student Services Property Managers F23 | Off Campus Student Services (OCSS) supports students living off-campus in the Bryan/College Station area, including helping students understand leases and find housing. OCSS surveyed property managers in the Bryan/College Station area to learn more about their leases, their marketing timeline, and the type of housing they oversee. 2023 Grad Camp Assessment | Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) sponsored one virtual session and two in-person sessions of Grad Camp held on August 15th (virtual), August 17th, and August 19th. GPSG has worked with Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) since 2009 to assess the experiences of counselors and the campers who attend Grad Camp. Client Follow-Up Feedback | Starting in summer 2020, Student Life Studies staff members began scheduling meetings with clients several weeks after assessment projects were completed. The purpose of these follow-up meetings was to find out what information from the report stood out to clients, how clients might use or share the results, or if there was any additional analysis Student Life Studies could provide. The department wanted to gather feedback from clients to know if these short follow-up meetings were beneficial or if the department could do something to make them more helpful.
