SLS Assessment Questionnaire Feedback - Fall 2020 | On August 1, 2020, Student Life Studies launched a new Assessment Questionnaire (AQ) form. The changes for updating the department’s intake form was based on frustrations clients expressed during the focus groups held in May 2019 on Student Life Studies’ services. The department wanted to gather feedback from clients who completed the new AQ form since it was launched to know if the changes improved clients’ experience completing this form. SLS Client Follow-Up Feedback - Fall 2020 | Starting in summer 2020, Student Life Studies staff members started scheduling meetings with clients several weeks after assessment projects were completed. The purpose of these follow-up meetings was to find out what information from the report stood out to clients, how clients might use or share the results, or if there was any additional analysis Student Life Studies could provide. The department wanted to gather feedback from clients to know if these short follow-up meetings are beneficial or if the department could do something to make them more helpful. Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference SBSLC 2023: Next Stop: Reaching New Limits | On January 19-21, 2023, the Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference (SBSLC) held its 34th annual conference at Texas A&M University. A series of surveys were developed to assess the student and advisor participants’ experiences attending the conference overall, participants’ experience at the Charles E. Staff Assessment Needs and Training | To meet the needs of staff members, Student Life Studies conducts a survey every three years to understand division staff members’ experiences and needs related to assessment. Student Life Studies uses this information to develop resources and training programs for the Division of Student Affairs. STAND Up Overview and STAND Up Workshop Evaluations 2020-2021- Health Promotions | Health Promotions within the Offices of the Dean of Student Life (ODSL) offers workshops providing educational support for the STAND Up campaign on the Texas A&M University campus inviting Aggies to Step In and Stand Up against sexual harassment and sexual violence. In 2020-2021, two separate programs were offered: The STAND Up Overview, an hour-long, virtual presentation intended to provide general information about the impacts of trauma related to experiencing power-based personal violence, and the STAND Up workshop, a three and one-half hour, in-person and virtual presentation designed to provide a more thorough understanding of impacts of trauma related to experiencing power-based personal violence. Surveys were distributed at the end of the Overviews and STAND Up workshops to measure participants’ learning and satisfaction. Student Assistance Services Student Experience - 2019-2020 | Student Assistance Services is one of the units in the Offices of the Dean of Student Life. According to its website (https://studentlife.tamu.edu/sas/), Student Assistance Services (SAS) “seeks to connect Texas A&M University students with the appropriate guidance, resources, and support to address a variety of personal and academic matters.” Students are often referred to Student Assistance Services for a variety of reasons such as concerning behavior, student death, sexual violence, withdrawal from school, student welfare checks, and general consultation. Student Assistance Services wanted to gather feedback on the experience of students who meet with staff in their office. Student Leader Inclusive Learning Outcomes 2021-2022 | Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) and staff from the Department of Student Activities met with student leaders from multiple sponsored and affiliated Texas A&M University student organizations to gain input in developing student leader learning outcomes. These outcomes associated with the Texas A&M University undergraduate learning outcomes practice personal and social responsibility and demonstrate social, cultural and global competence. Then related learning outcomes were conceived and written in conjunction with student leaders to more closely relate to their experiences as a student leader within their organizations.
