Customer Satisfaction Survey 2020-2021 | In August 2021, Division of Student Affairs (DSA) staff members who used the DSA Department of Information Technology (DoIT) services during the 2020-2021 academic year were surveyed regarding their overall satisfaction with DoIT services. This is the sixth time Student Life Studies has helped DoIT assess customer satisfaction of clients regarding the various services offered by DoIT. Student Organization Services Survey | Student Life Studies assisted the Department of Student Activities Student Organization Finance Center (SOFC) and the Student Organization Development Administration (SODA) in assessing Texas A&M University student organizations’ student leaders’ and student advisors’ experiences interfacing with their organizations. In spring 2021, a survey was sent to both student leaders and advisors to provide SOFC and SODA feedback regarding the quality of their services and offered resources. T-Camp 2021 Counselor/Teamer/Co-Chair and Camper Surveys - Aggie Transition Camps (ATC) | The purpose of this assessment was to understand the experiences of students who participated in T-Camp. T-Camp, sponsored by Aggie Transition Camps (ATC), is an extended (three-day) optional orientation camp for students who are transferring to Texas A&M University. There were two sessions held, from August 2 through August 8. Following the camps, one survey was sent to co-chairs, counselors, and teamers, and a few weeks into the semester another survey was sent to participants (campers) to assess their camp experience. Howdy Week Assessment 2021 | Howdy Week is a series of events held just before the fall semester to welcome primarily new students to campus and is coordinated by New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) in the Offices of the Dean of Student Life. Howdy Week 2021 was August 22-29, 2021, and included a combination of virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. NSFP wanted to understand the event coordinators’ experience, specifically with the process to submit events for Howdy Week and how organizations find out about submitting events. Additionally, NSFP wanted to assess students’ experiences with Howdy Week. SERU Graduate Climate Improvements 2021 | The Student Experience in the Research University (SERU) is a consortium of research institutions in the Association of American Universities that administer a common survey to generate knowledge and help further the goals of higher education in general and at the member institutions specifically. The SERU/Your Voice survey is a comprehensive survey of all graduate and professional students at Texas A&M University (TAMU) intended to give faculty, students, and administration in-depth insights into the student experience. Group RecXercise Classes - Fall 2021 | The Department of Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) offers a variety of group exercise classes, called Group RecXercise classes, at its facility to members for an additional fee. Approximately every other year Rec Sports assesses the exercise classes of members who purchased a pass offering unlimited access to classes by semester. The feedback guides Rec Sports staff to address concerns and make improvements to Group RecXercise. Mi Casa es Su Casa 2019-2020 | Mi Casa es Su Casa are a series of dinners hosted by faculty and staff for students throughout the academic year. Sponsored by MSC CAMAC, these dinners intend participants to network with other students and faculty and staff, and gain a better understanding of opportunities that can open in the future. This year three dinners were held - two in the fall semester and one in the spring. After the November and February dinners participating students were sent surveys in effort to better understand their experience. The hosts were sent a survey after the last dinner to also gain a better understanding of their experience with the student organizers and what improvements or changes they recommend for next year's events. Student Senate Academic Advising Survey Fall 2021 | The Student Senate wanted to collect input from the Texas A&M University non first time in college sophomores, juniors and seniors regarding their experiences with academic advising while at Texas A&M University. The Student Senate in conjunction with University Advisors and Counselors (UAC) and the Office for Student Success developed survey questions and contacted Student Life Studies to assist in survey editing, distribution, analysis and report of the survey results. MSC Fall Leadership Conference 2021 | The 69th Annual Memorial Student Center (MSC) Fall Leadership Conference (FLC), themed Harnessing Happiness to Lead with Success, was held August 24 through August 26, 2021. Student leaders (delegates) attending the conference were surveyed to assess their experiences at the conference, including listening to various speakers, participating in group discussions, and opportunities to network with other student leaders, former students, faculty, and staff. Venture Camps Participant Evaluation - 2021 | Venture Camps are extended orientation programs for admitted entering freshmen or transfer students starting in the fall semester. During the camp experience, students participate in a variety of outdoor activities and take part in Discussion Groups (DGs) to discuss college life at Texas A&M and campus traditions. This year two different camp experiences were offered to incoming students. Venture: Base Camp Backpacking was July 6-9, 2021, and Venture: Base Camp Paddling was July 13-16, 2021. Staff planning the Venture Camp programs wanted to understand the students’ experiences with the Venture Camp programs and how effective they were in reaching the identified outcomes. This was the sixth year of the program and Student Activities and Recreational Sports working with Student Life Studies to assess the effectiveness of the camp experience. Student Well-Being Survey | A longitudinal student was conducted to understand how students rate their well-being while attending Texas A&M to help Student Health Services maintain high quality health services and plan for new ones to enhance the health and well-being of all Aggie students. The electronic survey was administered once a month in September, October, November, February, March, and April. The survey link was emailed to a sample of students on or close to the 1st of each month and it was closed about the 15th of the month. Fish Camp Non-Participant Survey - 2021 | Fish Camp, an optional extended orientation camp, provides a transition from high school to college for approximately 6,000 incoming freshmen. Fish Camp has assessed different aspects of the program since 2000. Fish Camp wanted to assess the freshmen who did not attend Fish Camp to understand their first semester at Texas A&M and find out if there are things Fish Camp can do in their marketing and programming for more students to attend. This is the sixth time Fish Camp has specifically sought feedback from non-participants. MSC FLI Coast Rica Service Trip - 2022 | The Memorial Student Center (MSC) Freshmen Leadership International (FLI) coordinates an international service-learning program in Costa Rica for its members and any freshman in a Freshman Leadership Organization (FLO) each year over spring break. This year, the service-learning experience was from March 12-18, 2022. MSC FLI indicated the purpose of the trip for participants is to learn about another culture, enhance their Spanish language skills, experience the rainforest, and engage with local community members. Trip participants were assessed at three different points during the experience to gauge how well the outcomes were met and the overall impact of this experience. University Police Department - Student and Citizen Assessment - 2022 | The Texas A&M University Police Department (UPD) is required to survey “citizens” as a part of national accreditation requirements with the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). UPD surveys the campus community regularly to gather input from the community, identify and improve practices, and address attitudes that might contribute to tension and grievances. The process for gathering that information can be determined by the department.
