2023 De-Stress Fest Summary Report | Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) partnered with various offices across campus to host De-Stress Fest. This program was held on March 23, 2023, and the program was designed to teach participants the importance of self-care, participate in activities to lower stress, and learn about campus resources. Participants were assessed at the event after engaging in the activities to gauge what students learned about self-care and the resources that were present at the event. De-Stress Fest 2024 | Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) partnered with various offices across campus to host De-Stress Fest. This program was held on March 6, 2024, and the program was designed to teach participants the importance of self-care, participate in activities to lower stress, and learn about campus resources. Rec Sports had the following two outcomes for De-Stress Fest: 1. Participants will identify at least two resources that could help increase their wellness. Participants were assessed at the event after engaging in the activities to gauge what students learned about self-care and if the two outcomes were accomplished. Intramural Sports Participation Survey | Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) offers dozens of intramural activities each semester for a wide range of skill levels. Each year, more than 13,000 students participate in the intramural program. Staff members with Intramural Sports wanted to assess students who participated in the intramural program during the spring 2023 semester to understand their experiences and how to improve the program for the future. Assessment Basic Courses Training Series Assessment - 2022-2023 | One goal for Student Affairs Strategic Planning was to educate and develop staff within the Division of Student Affairs about assessment. To accomplish this goal, the department coordinated an Assessment Basic Courses (ABCs) training series throughout the 2022-2023 academic year. Five workshops were presented for the 2022-2023 academic year over the following topics: Assessment Planning Student Affairs Strategic Planning wanted to assess the participants’ learning at each workshop to understand if the intended learning outcomes for each one was met. Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference SBSLC 2023: Next Stop: Reaching New Limits | On January 19-21, 2023, the Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference (SBSLC) held its 34th annual conference at Texas A&M University. A series of surveys were developed to assess the student and advisor participants’ experiences attending the conference overall, participants’ experience at the Charles E. SBSLC 2020: Igniting the Dream: I the Flame, We the Fire | On January 16 -18, 2020, the Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference (SBSLC) held its 32nd annual conference at Texas A&M University. A series of surveys were developed to assess the student participants’ experience attending the conference overall, the organizations at the Career and Graduate School fair, 16 participants’ experience at the Charles E. Williams II Advanced Leadership Institute (ALI), and the 72 attending advisors. SLS Assessment Questionnaire Feedback - Fall 2020 | On August 1, 2020, Student Life Studies launched a new Assessment Questionnaire (AQ) form. The changes for updating the department’s intake form was based on frustrations clients expressed during the focus groups held in May 2019 on Student Life Studies’ services. The department wanted to gather feedback from clients who completed the new AQ form since it was launched to know if the changes improved clients’ experience completing this form. Off Campus Student Services Property Managers F23 | Off Campus Student Services (OCSS) supports students living off-campus in the Bryan/College Station area, including helping students understand leases and find housing. OCSS surveyed property managers in the Bryan/College Station area to learn more about their leases, their marketing timeline, and the type of housing they oversee. Off Campus Student Services Community Luncheon - Spring 2024 | Off Campus Student Services (OCSS) supports students living off-campus in the Bryan/College Station area, including helping students understand leases and find housing. Off Campus Student Services hosted a community luncheon on February 1, 2024, to educate local citizens on events, neighborhood codes, and being good neighbors. OCSS will use this information to inform future programs and student support. Parent and Family Assessment - Spring 2020 | New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) provides outreach to Aggie families because they understand how families contribute to students’ college success. Out-of-State Family Focus Groups | New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) is a unit within the Offices of the Dean of Student Life and work with families for all Texas A&M students. NSFP wanted to understand the needs of out-of-state Aggie families. Specifically, they wanted to learn how they could provide better programs and services to this family population and beneficial resources. In addition, New Student and Family Programs wanted to learn about these families’ experiences with New Student Conferences and Family Weekend. Student Life Studies conducted virtual focus groups with out-of-state family members to gather the desired information for New Student and Family Programs.
