Green Dot Bystander Intervention Overview and Training Evaluations 2020-2021 | According to its website (greendot.tamu.edu), Green Dot is an international movement built on the premise that individuals can systematically and measurably reduce the levels of power-based personal violence found in their community. Students, staff and faculty who participated in the Texas A&M Green Dot Bystander Intervention training classes and the Green Dot Overview virtual workshops were surveyed to assess the programs and how attending affected participants’ understanding of concepts related to power-based personal violence. Group RecXercise Classes - Fall 2021 | The Department of Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) offers a variety of group exercise classes, called Group RecXercise classes, at its facility to members for an additional fee. Approximately every other year Rec Sports assesses the exercise classes of members who purchased a pass offering unlimited access to classes by semester. The feedback guides Rec Sports staff to address concerns and make improvements to Group RecXercise. Health Promotion Alcohol Education Workshop Outcomes 2022-2023 | Students who receive a sanction to attend the Alcohol Education Workshop (AEW) are required to meet with a Health Promotion (HP) staff member prior to their workshop, attend the workshop, then come back for a follow-up meeting with the HP staff member approximately two weeks after participating in the workshop. Health Promotion wanted to assess whether the students attending AEW met the learning outcomes. Health Promotion Hullabaloo U - My Aggie Wellness Journey Assessment 2023 | Student Life Health Promotion (HP) staff offered 2023 Hullabaloo U instructors a series of 40-minute lessons to facilitate as part of the Hullabaloo U curriculum during their fall 2023 courses. The first lesson, My Aggie Wellness Journey, was intended to be delivered in the early weeks of the semester between August 24, 2023, and September 30, 2023. Students participating in the lesson were offered an open link or a QR code to access a survey at the end of the lesson, which assessed whether the students met the learning outcomes and whether they were receptive to and participated in lesson activities. Health Promotion: Hullabaloo U Healthy Relationships Lesson Fall 2023 | As part of the 2023 Hullabaloo U curriculum, Health Promotion (HP) staff were required to provide a lesson called Healthy Relationships. Instructors and students were surveyed after the Healthy Relationship lesson was facilitated during weeks six through 11 to measure its effectiveness from each of their perspectives. This lesson was provided to multiple Texas A&M campuses as well as the College Station campus. Health Promotion: Hullabaloo U Lessons 2020-2021 | Health Promotion (HP) staff offered 2020 Hullabaloo U instructors a series of five 50-minute lessons that they could facilitate as part of the Hullabaloo U curriculum during their fall 2020 courses. Two of the lessons, Healthy Relationships and Well Being: Dimensions of Wellness, were required to be delivered. Instructors were surveyed after those required lessons were to have been delivered to measure the effectiveness of those lessons from the perspective of instructors to incorporate future improvements to the lesson plans. The surveys assessed whether instructors felt the students met the learning outcomes, were receptive to and participated in the activities included in the lessons and whether instructors thought the lessons valuable. HP staff also wanted to understand if lessons were implemented with ease, and succinct enough to facilitate within a 50-minute timeframe. Health Promotions - Sex in the Dark Workshop 2021-2022 | The Sex in the Dark workshop, conducted by Health Promotion (HP), is designed to increase students’ knowledge of their sexual health. Learning outcomes developed for Sex in the Dark workshop include: • Participants will report increased knowledge of healthy sexual behaviors. Surveys were developed to measure participants’ learning, as well as gauge participants’ overall impression of the program and perceptions of the facilitators of the program. Health Promotions Presentation Survey 2021-2022 | Health Promotion (HP) staff offer a variety of presentations for classrooms, student organizations and residence halls on health-related topics to promote healthy lifestyles, health maintenance, disease/injury prevention and interpersonal violence protection for Texas A&M University students and the campus community. After each presentation, participants were surveyed to ascertain their satisfaction with each presentation, whether the topics presented were relevant to them, and to gain insight into future improvements needed. During the 2021-2022 academic year HP presentations were provided in both in-person and virtual formats. Health Promotions STAND UP Overview and Workshop Evaluations 2021-2022 | Health Promotions within Student Life offers workshops providing educational support for the STAND Up campaign on the Texas A&M University campus inviting Aggies to Step In and Stand Up against sexual harassment and sexual violence. In 2021-2022, two separate programs were offered: The STAND Up Overview, an hour-long presentation intended to provide general information about the impacts of trauma related to experiencing power-based personal violence, and the STAND Up workshop, a three and one-half hour, in-person workshop designed to provide a more thorough understanding of impacts of trauma related to experiencing power-based personal violence. Surveys were distributed at the end of the Overviews and STAND Up workshops to measure participants’ learning and satisfaction. Howdy Week Assessment 2021 | Howdy Week is a series of events held just before the fall semester to welcome primarily new students to campus and is coordinated by New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) in the Offices of the Dean of Student Life. Howdy Week 2021 was August 22-29, 2021, and included a combination of virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. NSFP wanted to understand the event coordinators’ experience, specifically with the process to submit events for Howdy Week and how organizations find out about submitting events. Additionally, NSFP wanted to assess students’ experiences with Howdy Week. I-Week 2022 | The International Festival, known as I-Week, is a weeklong festival and Texas A&M’s largest cultural celebration. It is designed to bring cultural awareness to those attending as well as to serve as a platform for cultural organizations and individuals to share their home cultures with the Texas A&M community. This year, I-Week took place on March 28-April 1, 2022, and consisted of a variety of events including I-Exhibit, I-Story, I-Dinner, I-Show, I-Art, and I-Awards. International Student Association (ISA) wanted to assess attendees for any activity during the weeklong event.
