Student Experience Assessment | Student Assistance Services (SAS) is one of the units in Student Life where students are often referred to for a variety of reasons such as concerning behavior, student death, sexual violence, withdrawal from school, student welfare checks, and general consultation. Student Leader Inclusive Learning Outcomes 2021-2022 | Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) and staff from the Department of Student Activities met with student leaders from multiple sponsored and affiliated Texas A&M University student organizations to gain input in developing student leader learning outcomes. These outcomes associated with the Texas A&M University undergraduate learning outcomes practice personal and social responsibility and demonstrate social, cultural and global competence. Then related learning outcomes were conceived and written in conjunction with student leaders to more closely relate to their experiences as a student leader within their organizations. Student Life Studies Client Follow-Up - Spring/Summer 2021 | Starting in summer 2020, Student Life Studies staff members started scheduling meetings with clients several weeks after assessment projects were completed. The purpose of these follow-up meetings was to find out what information from the report stood out to clients, how clients might use or share the results, or if there was any additional analysis Student Life Studies could provide. The department wanted to gather feedback from clients to know if these short follow-up meetings are beneficial or if the department could do something to make them more helpful. Student Organization Services Survey | Student Life Studies assisted the Department of Student Activities Student Organization Finance Center (SOFC) and the Student Organization Development Administration (SODA) in assessing Texas A&M University student organizations’ student leaders’ and student advisors’ experiences interfacing with their organizations. In spring 2021, a survey was sent to both student leaders and advisors to provide SOFC and SODA feedback regarding the quality of their services and offered resources. Student Research Week - Spring 2023 | Student Research Week (SRW) is a four-day competition coordinated by the Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG). Students can share their research conducted at Texas A&M either through oral presentations or poster sessions. This year, Student Research Week was held March 20-24, 2023. The Graduate and Professional Student Government wanted to assess the experiences of the competitors, judges, and volunteers regarding their participation in Student Research Week 2023. Student Senate Academic Advising Survey Fall 2021 | The Student Senate wanted to collect input from the Texas A&M University non first time in college sophomores, juniors and seniors regarding their experiences with academic advising while at Texas A&M University. The Student Senate in conjunction with University Advisors and Counselors (UAC) and the Office for Student Success developed survey questions and contacted Student Life Studies to assist in survey editing, distribution, analysis and report of the survey results. Student Well-Being Survey | A longitudinal student was conducted to understand how students rate their well-being while attending Texas A&M to help Student Health Services maintain high quality health services and plan for new ones to enhance the health and well-being of all Aggie students. The electronic survey was administered once a month in September, October, November, February, March, and April. The survey link was emailed to a sample of students on or close to the 1st of each month and it was closed about the 15th of the month. Sully Statue Survey Spring 2020 - Student Senate/SGA | The Student Senate wanted to collect input from the Texas A&M University student body regarding the statue of Lawrence Sullivan (Sul) Ross that is located in the Academic Plaza and options surrounding its future presence on campus. Student Senators developed survey questions and contacted Student Life Studies to assist in survey editing, distribution, analysis and report of the survey results so the Senate can report the findings to Texas A&M administration and to the student body. Sustainability Awareness Initiative | The Department of Residence Life facilitates various sustainability initiatives, programs and resources for on-campus residents. The department wanted to assess the awareness of their sustainability initiatives, resources and programs among on-campus residents, as well as these students’ involvement in these initiatives and programs. T-Camp 2021 Counselor/Teamer/Co-Chair and Camper Surveys - Aggie Transition Camps (ATC) | The purpose of this assessment was to understand the experiences of students who participated in T-Camp. T-Camp, sponsored by Aggie Transition Camps (ATC), is an extended (three-day) optional orientation camp for students who are transferring to Texas A&M University. There were two sessions held, from August 2 through August 8. Following the camps, one survey was sent to co-chairs, counselors, and teamers, and a few weeks into the semester another survey was sent to participants (campers) to assess their camp experience. The Big Event - Spring 2024 | According to its website (http://bigevent.tamu.edu/), “The Big Event is the largest, one-day, student-run service project in the nation where students of Texas A&M University come together to say ‘Thank You’ to the residents of Bryan and College Station.” The Big Event leaders worked with Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research to understand how Bryan/College Station community members and volunteers reacted to their experience with The Big Event (TBE).
