I-Week 2022 | The International Festival, known as I-Week, is a weeklong festival and Texas A&M’s largest cultural celebration. It is designed to bring cultural awareness to those attending as well as to serve as a platform for cultural organizations and individuals to share their home cultures with the Texas A&M community. This year, I-Week took place on March 28-April 1, 2022, and consisted of a variety of events including I-Exhibit, I-Story, I-Dinner, I-Show, I-Art, and I-Awards. Client Follow-Up Meeting Feedback | Starting in the summer of 2020, Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) staff members began scheduling meetings with clients several weeks after assessment projects were completed. The purpose of these follow-up meetings was to find out what information from the report stood out to clients, how clients might use or share the results, or if there was any additional analysis Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research could provide. The department wanted to gather feedback from clients to know if these short follow-up meetings were beneficial or if the department could do something to make them more helpful. Student Conduct Conferences 2021-2022 | The Student Conduct Office (SCO) wanted to assess students’ experience with and the learning from their conduct conferences to continue to improve how their office works with students in the future. The Student Conduct Office previously used a national survey to assess students’ experience, but the questions did not focus on the priorities identified by the unit. Student Experience Assessment | Student Assistance Services (SAS) is one of the units in Student Life where students are often referred to for a variety of reasons such as concerning behavior, student death, sexual violence, withdrawal from school, student welfare checks, and general consultation. Student Assistance Services wanted to gather feedback on the experience of students who meet with staff in their office. Customer Satisfaction Survey 2021-2022 | Division of Student Affairs (DSA) staff members who used the DSA Department of Information Technology (DoIT) services during the 2021-2022 academic year were surveyed regarding their overall satisfaction with DoIT services. This is the seventh time Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) helped DoIT assess customer satisfaction of clients regarding the various services offered by DoIT. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Needs and Awareness - 2022 | Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) wanted to understand the level of awareness faculty, staff, and students have of the department’s services as well as their knowledge of suicide prevention training and My Student Support Program (My SSP) @ TAMU. Additionally, the department wanted to learn what services students thought were beneficial and discover any reservations students had about going to CAPS. Furthermore, CAPS wanted to know the comfort level faculty and staff had in referring students to the department. Student Leader Inclusive Learning Outcomes 2021-2022 | Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) and staff from the Department of Student Activities met with student leaders from multiple sponsored and affiliated Texas A&M University student organizations to gain input in developing student leader learning outcomes. These outcomes associated with the Texas A&M University undergraduate learning outcomes practice personal and social responsibility and demonstrate social, cultural and global competence. Then related learning outcomes were conceived and written in conjunction with student leaders to more closely relate to their experiences as a student leader within their organizations. Health Promotions Presentation Survey 2021-2022 | Health Promotion (HP) staff offer a variety of presentations for classrooms, student organizations and residence halls on health-related topics to promote healthy lifestyles, health maintenance, disease/injury prevention and interpersonal violence protection for Texas A&M University students and the campus community. After each presentation, participants were surveyed to ascertain their satisfaction with each presentation, whether the topics presented were relevant to them, and to gain insight into future improvements needed. During the 2021-2022 academic year HP presentations were provided in both in-person and virtual formats. Student Well-Being Survey | A longitudinal student was conducted to understand how students rate their well-being while attending Texas A&M to help Student Health Services maintain high quality health services and plan for new ones to enhance the health and well-being of all Aggie students. The electronic survey was administered once a month in September, October, November, February, March, and April. The survey link was emailed to a sample of students on or close to the 1st of each month and it was closed about the 15th of the month. Fish Camp Non-Participant Survey - 2021 | Fish Camp, an optional extended orientation camp, provides a transition from high school to college for approximately 6,000 incoming freshmen. Fish Camp has assessed different aspects of the program since 2000. Fish Camp wanted to assess the freshmen who did not attend Fish Camp to understand their first semester at Texas A&M and find out if there are things Fish Camp can do in their marketing and programming for more students to attend. This is the sixth time Fish Camp has specifically sought feedback from non-participants. University Police Department - Student and Citizen Assessment - 2022 | The Texas A&M University Police Department (UPD) is required to survey “citizens” as a part of national accreditation requirements with the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). UPD surveys the campus community regularly to gather input from the community, identify and improve practices, and address attitudes that might contribute to tension and grievances. The process for gathering that information can be determined by the department. MSC FLI Coast Rica Service Trip - 2022 | The Memorial Student Center (MSC) Freshmen Leadership International (FLI) coordinates an international service-learning program in Costa Rica for its members and any freshman in a Freshman Leadership Organization (FLO) each year over spring break. This year, the service-learning experience was from March 12-18, 2022. MSC FLI indicated the purpose of the trip for participants is to learn about another culture, enhance their Spanish language skills, experience the rainforest, and engage with local community members. Trip participants were assessed at three different points during the experience to gauge how well the outcomes were met and the overall impact of this experience. Fish Camp Participant Survey - 2021 | According to its website (http://fishcamp.tamu.edu/), Fish Camp strives to “welcome freshmen into the Aggie Family by sharing the traditions and values of Texas A&M University and building long-term relationships that embody the Aggie spirit.” Fish Camp operates as a student organization and is housed in the Department of Student Activities. This year, eight sessions were held in person from July 25th through August 17th, 2021. Fish Camp is typically a four-day camp at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center in Palestine, TX. However, this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Fish Camp was three days to allow one day between each camp for cleaning. Fish Camp wanted to understand the participants’ camp experience and how Fish Camp affected, if at all, the start of the fall semester for those who attended. Graduate and Professional Student Government International Graduate Student Assessment 2022 | The Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) wanted to assess the experience of international graduate and professional students at Texas A&M to identify areas in which GPSG could help improve their student experience and quality of life at Texas A&M. More specifically, GPSG wanted to understand international graduate students’ experiences as they encounter processes unique to international students, like the I-20 processes, using the Terra Dotta system, and processes in applying and participating in Optional Practical Training (OPT). GPSG leadership contacted Student Life Studies (SLS) in the fall of 2021 to assist them in creating and distributing the survey to international graduate students attending Texas A&M University in spring 2022; this is the second time SLS has assisted GPSG with this assessment. Student Senate Academic Advising Survey Fall 2021 | The Student Senate wanted to collect input from the Texas A&M University non first time in college sophomores, juniors and seniors regarding their experiences with academic advising while at Texas A&M University. The Student Senate in conjunction with University Advisors and Counselors (UAC) and the Office for Student Success developed survey questions and contacted Student Life Studies to assist in survey editing, distribution, analysis and report of the survey results.
