Health Promotions Presentation Survey 2021-2022 | Health Promotion (HP) staff offer a variety of presentations for classrooms, student organizations and residence halls on health-related topics to promote healthy lifestyles, health maintenance, disease/injury prevention and interpersonal violence protection for Texas A&M University students and the campus community. After each presentation, participants were surveyed to ascertain their satisfaction with each presentation, whether the topics presented were relevant to them, and to gain insight into future improvements needed. During the 2021-2022 academic year HP presentations were provided in both in-person and virtual formats. Student Leader Inclusive Learning Outcomes 2021-2022 | Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) and staff from the Department of Student Activities met with student leaders from multiple sponsored and affiliated Texas A&M University student organizations to gain input in developing student leader learning outcomes. These outcomes associated with the Texas A&M University undergraduate learning outcomes practice personal and social responsibility and demonstrate social, cultural and global competence. Then related learning outcomes were conceived and written in conjunction with student leaders to more closely relate to their experiences as a student leader within their organizations. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Needs and Awareness - 2022 | Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) wanted to understand the level of awareness faculty, staff, and students have of the department’s services as well as their knowledge of suicide prevention training and My Student Support Program (My SSP) @ TAMU. Additionally, the department wanted to learn what services students thought were beneficial and discover any reservations students had about going to CAPS. Furthermore, CAPS wanted to know the comfort level faculty and staff had in referring students to the department. Customer Satisfaction Survey 2021-2022 | Division of Student Affairs (DSA) staff members who used the DSA Department of Information Technology (DoIT) services during the 2021-2022 academic year were surveyed regarding their overall satisfaction with DoIT services. This is the seventh time Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) helped DoIT assess customer satisfaction of clients regarding the various services offered by DoIT. Student Experience Assessment | Student Assistance Services (SAS) is one of the units in Student Life where students are often referred to for a variety of reasons such as concerning behavior, student death, sexual violence, withdrawal from school, student welfare checks, and general consultation. Student Assistance Services wanted to gather feedback on the experience of students who meet with staff in their office. Student Conduct Conferences 2021-2022 | The Student Conduct Office (SCO) wanted to assess students’ experience with and the learning from their conduct conferences to continue to improve how their office works with students in the future. The Student Conduct Office previously used a national survey to assess students’ experience, but the questions did not focus on the priorities identified by the unit. Client Follow-Up Meeting Feedback | Starting in the summer of 2020, Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) staff members began scheduling meetings with clients several weeks after assessment projects were completed. The purpose of these follow-up meetings was to find out what information from the report stood out to clients, how clients might use or share the results, or if there was any additional analysis Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research could provide. The department wanted to gather feedback from clients to know if these short follow-up meetings were beneficial or if the department could do something to make them more helpful. I-Week 2022 | The International Festival, known as I-Week, is a weeklong festival and Texas A&M’s largest cultural celebration. It is designed to bring cultural awareness to those attending as well as to serve as a platform for cultural organizations and individuals to share their home cultures with the Texas A&M community. This year, I-Week took place on March 28-April 1, 2022, and consisted of a variety of events including I-Exhibit, I-Story, I-Dinner, I-Show, I-Art, and I-Awards. International Student Association (ISA) wanted to assess attendees for any activity during the weeklong event. Rec Sports Climbing Wall Focus Group - Spring 2022 | The department of Recreational Sports (Rec Sports or the Rec) strives to serve all Texas A&M students. The Outdoor Adventures staff recognized that they did not have female students use the climbing wall at the same level as male students. They wanted to understand why female students did not use the climbing wall and what staff could do to encourage more female students to utilize the facilities. To understand the experiences of female students, a focus group was conducted with female students who regularly utilized the Rec Center but did not use the climbing wall regularly. Counseling and Psychological Services Suicide Prevention Training - Jan 2021-Aug 2022 | Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides suicide awareness and prevention training workshops for students, faculty, and staff. CAPS wanted to know if participants were learning the information covered during the training and their comfort level in talking about suicide to others. Additionally, CAPS wanted to understand what participants thought about the training and how to improve it in the future. 2022 The Big Event Community & Participant Surveys | Two surveys were created to understand how students were impacted by participating in The Big Event (TBE), and how members of the Bryan/College Station community reacted to their experience with The Big Event during Spring 2022. The feedback collected was from both the community members who registered for a job and the student participants who registered. This report covers the responses from both groups. Health Promotions STAND UP Overview and Workshop Evaluations 2021-2022 | Health Promotions within Student Life offers workshops providing educational support for the STAND Up campaign on the Texas A&M University campus inviting Aggies to Step In and Stand Up against sexual harassment and sexual violence. In 2021-2022, two separate programs were offered: The STAND Up Overview, an hour-long presentation intended to provide general information about the impacts of trauma related to experiencing power-based personal violence, and the STAND Up workshop, a three and one-half hour, in-person workshop designed to provide a more thorough understanding of impacts of trauma related to experiencing power-based personal violence. Surveys were distributed at the end of the Overviews and STAND Up workshops to measure participants’ learning and satisfaction. Health Promotions - Sex in the Dark Workshop 2021-2022 | The Sex in the Dark workshop, conducted by Health Promotion (HP), is designed to increase students’ knowledge of their sexual health. Learning outcomes developed for Sex in the Dark workshop include: • Participants will report increased knowledge of healthy sexual behaviors. Surveys were developed to measure participants’ learning, as well as gauge participants’ overall impression of the program and perceptions of the facilitators of the program. DSA Awards Committee Awards Nomination Experience Assessment FA 2022 | The Division of Student Affairs Awards Committee wanted to understand how the DSA Awards nomination process was perceived by DSA staff in an effort to increase the number of award nominations. Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) assisted the committee in developing a survey to assess the DSA staff about the nomination process; the attached report summarizes the results of that survey. Green Dot Bystander Intervention Overview & Training Evaluations 2021-2022 | According to its website (greendot.tamu.edu), Green Dot is an international movement built on the premise that individuals can systematically and measurably reduce the levels of power-based personal violence found in their community. Students, staff and faculty who participated in the Texas A&M Green Dot Bystander Intervention training classes and the Green Dot Overview virtual workshops were surveyed to assess the programs and how attending affected participants’ understanding of concepts related to power-based personal violence.
