Intramural Sports Participation Survey | Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) offers dozens of intramural activities each semester for a wide range of skill levels. Each year, more than 13,000 students participate in the intramural program. Staff members with Intramural Sports wanted to assess students who participated in the intramural program during the spring 2023 semester to understand their experiences and how to improve the program for the future. Disability Resources - Faculty Survey 2023 | Disability Resources gathers feedback from faculty members every few years to understand how they can best work with faculty to serve students. Specifically, Disability Resources wanted to identify areas of training that are most relevant to faculty members in working with students with disabilities. Health Promotion Alcohol Education Workshop Outcomes 2022-2023 | Students who receive a sanction to attend the Alcohol Education Workshop (AEW) are required to meet with a Health Promotion (HP) staff member prior to their workshop, attend the workshop, then come back for a follow-up meeting with the HP staff member approximately two weeks after participating in the workshop. Health Promotion wanted to assess whether the students attending AEW met the learning outcomes. Student Leader Inclusive Learning Outcomes 2022-2023 | Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research (SAPAR) and staff from the Department of Student Activities met with student leaders from multiple sponsored and affiliated Texas A&M University student organizations to develop student leader learning outcomes relevant to their organizational leadership experiences. These outcomes associated with the Texas A&M University (TAMU) undergraduate learning outcomes of life-long learning and demonstrate social, cultural and global competence. An assessment was created to gain insight from student organization leaders about experiences within their student organizations related to their progress in achieving both learning outcomes during the year. DSA Assessment Committee Member Survey - Spring 2023 | In the spring 2022 semester, Student Affairs Strategic Planning worked with graduate students in the EDAD 658 class to assess the members of the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) Assessment Committee to learn how the committee could be improved and to fulfill its mission. Student Affairs Strategic Planning implemented several recommendations provided by the graduate students throughout the academic year. I-Week Attendees - 2023 | The International Festival, known as I-Week, is a weeklong festival and Texas A&M’s largest cultural celebration. It is designed to bring cultural awareness to those attending as well as to serve as a platform for cultural organizations and individuals to share their home cultures with the Texas A&M community. This year, I-Week took place on February 27-March 4, 2023, and consisted of a variety of events including I-Exhibit, I-Story, I-Dinner, I-Show, I-Art, and I-Awards. International Student Association (ISA) wanted to assess attendees of any activity during the weeklong event. 2023 DMS LEAD Evaluation | Multicultural Services and student leaders from the Asian President’s Council contacted Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research to assist in developing an assessment for the 2023 Leadership Education for Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) Development (LEAD) Conference. This year’s conference was held on April 15, 2023, and the theme of LEAD was Reflecting on our Past, Changing for our Future. The conference was open to students, staff, and faculty from Texas A&M University and from other educational institutions. International Graduate Student Assessment - Spring 2023 | The Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) wanted to assess the experiences of international graduate and professional students at Texas A&M to identify areas in which GPSG could work with International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) to improve international graduate students’ experience. More specifically, GPSG wanted to understand international graduate students’ experiences as they encounter processes unique to international students, like the I-20 processes, using the Terra Dotta system, and processes in applying and participating in Optional Practical Training (OPT). 2023 De-Stress Fest Summary Report | Recreational Sports (Rec Sports) partnered with various offices across campus to host De-Stress Fest. This program was held on March 23, 2023, and the program was designed to teach participants the importance of self-care, participate in activities to lower stress, and learn about campus resources. Participants were assessed at the event after engaging in the activities to gauge what students learned about self-care and the resources that were present at the event. Fish Camp Participant Assessment - Summer 2022 | According to its website (http://fishcamp.tamu.edu/mission/), Fish Camp strives to “welcome freshmen into the Aggie Family by sharing the traditions and values of Texas A&M University and building long-term relationships that embody the Aggie spirit.” Fish Camp operates as a student organization and is housed in the Department of Student Activities. This year, eight sessions were held in person from July 23rd through August 9th, 2022. Fish Camp used to be a four-day camp at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center in Palestine, TX. However, starting in 2021, and continuing in 2022, Fish Camp was shortened to three days. Fish Camp leaders and advisors wanted to understand the participants’ camp experience and how Fish Camp affected, if at all, the start of the fall semester for those who attended. Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference SBSLC 2023: Next Stop: Reaching New Limits | On January 19-21, 2023, the Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference (SBSLC) held its 34th annual conference at Texas A&M University. A series of surveys were developed to assess the student and advisor participants’ experiences attending the conference overall, participants’ experience at the Charles E. T-Camp 2022 | The purpose of this assessment was to understand the experiences of students who participated in T-Camp, sponsored by Aggie Transition Camps (ATC). T-Camp is an extended (three-day) optional orientation camp for students who are transferring to Texas A&M University. There was one session held from August 10th through August 12th.
